Recent Research Concludes Acupuncture Increases Embryo Implantation, Clinical Pregnancy, and Live Birth Rates in Women Undergoing FET

Recent research has concluded acupuncture increases embryo implantation, clinical pregnancy, and live birth rates in women undergoing FET. Women in this study received transcutaneous electrical acupuncture stimulation (TEAS) treatment over 3 cycles leading up to the FET, with TEAS treatment on their abdomen and lower inner leg. The rates of embryo implantation, clinical pregnancy, and live birth rates were all higher in the group receiving TEAS than those not receiving TEAS.
At Whole Family Health, clinically we see that acupuncture treatments do enhance the success of FET. Acupuncture prepares the body by encouraging implantation, reducing the risk of miscarriage, and improving hormone production. The effects of acupuncture are cumulative with frequency often being a key factor, so receiving one to three acupuncture treatments per week for several weeks (ideally three months) prior to transfer is more successful than just receiving treatment on the day of the transfer.
Whole Family Health offers acupuncture support during IVF/FET treatments. Our acupuncture preconception programs offer a course of treatment that combines twice weekly acupuncture treatments leading up to the transfer with acupuncture on the day of your procedure to increase embryo receptivity and your chance of success. The acupuncture can be done before or after the procedure.
Acupuncture during an IVF/FET cycle is a safe, natural way to make these treatments more effective. If you are planning a procedure, please talk to us about how we can help you increase your chance of a successful conception!
