Canadian Fertility Awareness Week
Expressive Arts Workshop | Creative Journeys

WHY:

In honour of Canadian Fertility Awareness Week, we are teaming up with Alberta Reproductive Centre and fertility experts to offer a special fundraising evening of creative expression.

WHAT:

We know that dealing with fertility challenges can be a complex and full body experience that affects us physically, mentally and emotionally.

Interruption to the reproductive story can be a lot to digest and just like every individual’s fertility journey, there are many ways to support the process.

WHO:

If you are struggling with fertility challenges, join us for an experiential workshop using expressive arts and mindfulness to explore your fertility journey and build resilience through safe and creative expression.

This is open to people with all levels of experience with art – no previous art experience is necessary!

HOW:

Participants will be led through mindfulness practices and art exercises, as they safely explore and visually express aspects of their fertility journey through colour, shape and music.

Each participant will create a unique art piece, representing their own Creative Journey, which will become part of a mosaic mural representing a collective message of resilience: One Voice.

This ‘One Voice’ mural will be exhibited at Alberta Reproductive Centre for 3 months*, after which participants are invited to take their pieces home. (*Please note that participant confidentiality will be honoured.)

Participants will also learn mindfulness tools that they can continue to use to build resilience throughout their fertility journeys.

WHEN:

Wednesday, April 24th
6:30 – 8:30 PM

WHERE:

Alberta Reproductive Centre
17203 103 Ave NW
Edmonton, AB T5S 1J4

COST:

$40
All proceeds will be donated to the non-profit Fertility Alberta, for their work in raising awareness and advocacy for fertility patients.
All art materials will be provided & final art projects will be anonymously displayed in a ‘One Voice’ Exhibit for 3 months, after which they can be taken home by participants.
