This 8 week Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction program is offered in affiliation with the Mindfulness Institute.

An 8-week group program based on the emerging field of mind-body medicine. Through intensive training in a combination of mindfulness, cognitive behavioural and self-regulation skills, learn to mobilize your deep inner resources to facilitate learning, growth, healing, enhance self care, and make positive shifts in attitudes, behaviours and relationships.

Mindfulness is increasingly being integrated into a variety of medical, educational, and business settings. The MBSR program developed by Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn at the internationally acclaimed Center For Mindfulness (CFM), University of Massachusetts Medical School, is the oldest and largest Mindfulness-Based Intervention (MBI), upon which many other MBI’s are based. Through attending this program, professionals can experience MBSR and its outcomes in a non-clinical setting with other professionals. By the end of the 8-week program, participants will have developed a daily personal mindfulness practice – the necessary foundation upon which to integrate mindfulness into their professional and personal lives.

Learning Objectives

Participants will:

  • Have a direct personal experience of the 8-week MBSR program, including its format, themes, and discussion emerging from the program.

  • Learn foundational mindfulness exercises practiced in MBSR (and adapted by various other MBI’s) to develop their own mindfulness practice, gaining the tools to integrate mindfulness into their professional life.

  • Complete an essential requirement for anyone considering leading the MBSR program or applying for teacher certification.

Winter 2021 – Online

Join us for this winter’s 8-week program offered in affiliation with Whole Family Health with seasoned Mindfulness Instructors, Hannah Marsh and Dr. Alda Ngo, who are both MBSR Facilitators in Training with the Centre for Mindfulness Studies.

This will be a highly interactive web-based program using Zoom.

  • Orientation (mandatory):
    Monday, Feb. 1, 6:45-9:15pm MST

  • Monday Classes:
    Feb. 8 to March 29,
    6:45-9:15pm MST

  • Sunday Retreat:
    March 21,
    12:30-4:30pm MST

Registration

Early bird: $637 per person + GST ($668.85)
Regular: $687 per person + GST ($721.35)

Early Bird Deadline: January 18, 2021
Registration Deadline: February 1, 2021

Registration is open to Canadian residents. Register early as space is limited. Payment must be made in full at time of registration.

Cancellation policy: Cancellations received prior to the registration deadline will be refunded minus a $100 processing fee. No refunds after the registration deadline. The Mindfulness Institute.ca reserves the right to cancel this program due to unforeseen circumstances. If this should occur, registrants will be granted full refunds. A minimum attendance of 15 people is required.
